Kindergarten Muensterdorf

The existing kindergarten in Münsterdorf was built under a large, cantilevered roof with a characteristic skylight and has already been expanded once. For a further expansion, the municipality decided to close the street in front of the daycare center and thus double the area of the site. The building is also expanded. For this purpose, the roof shapes of the two previous parts of the building were adopted and implemented with new materials. The building consists of cross-laminated timber panels, which remain visible in the interior and are framed with a metal shell. The color of the façade sheet metal picks up on the warm red tone of the existing building and blends into the overall ensemble despite the completely different construction. The old and new building will be framed with a sensitive, varied exterior design and the street leading to the day-care center will be traffic-calmed.
