Trittau School
A primary school from the 1970s (Kasseler model) was to be expanded so that the existing building could be removed at a later date and replaced by another new building. A new wing was added, resulting in an angular overall building that surrounds the existing schoolyard. The relatively generous room heights and hallway widths due to the original precast concrete construction of the existing building were adopted in the new building and supplemented by generous light roofs in the central area of the upper floor. Contemporary teaching concepts led to the integration of smaller group rooms, which are visually connected to the central hallways via glass walls. In the new building, new classrooms, specialist and administrative rooms with a spacious teacher's room were created. In the existing building, the auditorium adjacent to the new building was enlarged and renovated and the administration area was completely renovated. The building was constructed of solid construction with metal covering on the roof and on the upper floor. An ETICS system is integrated on the ground floor and to the south there is a spacious terrace as a lounge for employees, which is shaded by a pergola. A PV system is integrated on the roof, which is used to power the school and there is also a ventilation system. The relatively high ceiling heights made it possible to integrate mechanical ventilation into the classrooms.
